Nikon has recently announced it’s latest flagship camera in development, the Z9. The camera is Nikon’s highest end mirrorless camera so far. The Z9 is their first Z-mount flagship camera . As per Nikon’s claims the camera will provide “Best still and video performance in Nikon history”.

Expected to be released in later part of 2021, Nikon Z9 should have good balance between photo and video performance. Nikon says the camera uses various video specifications that fulfil diverse needs and workflows.

The few highlights we have come across are

  • Integrated Vertical grip
  • Newly developed FX-Format stacked CMOS sensor
  • New Image processing engine
  • 8K recording

With latest announcement by Canon about development of EOS R3 and Sony’s Alpha 1 being already leading the segment, it will be very interesting to see what Nikon brings to the table.
